Hartington Folk Festival Cancelled

The third Hartington Folk Festival was due to take place on 28th May at Hartington, Derbyshire. However the festival has been cancelled due to poor advance ticket sales and two of the major sponsors pulling out (very late) due to the current financial climate.

The last three years have seen the festival receive media coverage and international interest. However with the cancellation of local folk music show BBC Radio’s ‘Folkwaves’ there has been a downturn in ticket sales and combined with our corporate sponsors pulling out, the festival has had to be cancelled.

Event organisers said ‘We had to make the decision as the financial implications of running the event without the support of our sponsors and advance ticket sales were too great.

With this being our third year with an international line up, we have not taken this decision lightly.’

People who have purchased advance tickets to the event have been contacted and ticket money will be reimbursed in full.

If you purchased tickets from us this year then we would like to offer you free tickets to our next festival www.stratforduponavonfolkfestival.com – please email info@greyfoot.co.uk with your details and proof of purchase from Gigantic.com
